My system being Mandriva - Automatically updates 99% of all programs I have including JAVA and JAVA Webstart. ![]() I posted those as THOSE are the ones preventing me from running Sweet Home 3D, and pretty much any Java application that uses a browser. (as this is Linux and browsers are a plenty_) Instead of racking my brain to work out why the JAVA won't run, I could have been working out another browser to try to get it to run with. (as it came with my DVD install of Mandriva) Not yet, it kills me that applications such as JAVA don't keep up to date with Browsers - Firefox 2.0.0.01 came out over 5 months ago. I will look into my OpenGL settings and see what might be causing the OpenGL driver to not work with Java - as the OpenGL does work for my screensaver. I have the same type of error and I'm not using Ubuntu nor do I have an Intel Video card. Does anyone know what I might do to "fix" it? I have installed Java Run Time a couple of times (upgrading to version 6), but this has not seemed to help for me. I discovered in the french Ubuntu Sweet Home forum that another user had this same problem, which was resolved by (as I understood it) fixing a problem with Java Run Time. Ubuntu 7.10 Dell Laptop Intel 845 video newbie linux user I started a new project with just a few walls and furniture to test, and it was created fine, but gave the same error message when trying to open it again. Upon the advice of various forums etc, I tried installing a different version of Sweet Home 3D, updating to the latest version of Java, updating video drivers (which unfortunately was itself less than successful), but I always get the same effect. Sweet Home 3D will now close because of a fatal error in 3D rendering system (or something very close to that).
